Rockwall

The east side's lake town, twenty-something miles from downtown Dallas.

Rockwall is the seat of the smallest county in Texas, and it sits right on the eastern shore of Lake Ray Hubbard. The Harbor district puts restaurants, a lighthouse amphitheater, and a boardwalk directly on the water, and the historic downtown square a couple of miles east keeps the original county-seat character.

Growth has come steadily east along I-30, so Rockwall blends an older core with newer master-planned neighborhoods spreading toward Fate and Heath. The lake is the anchor: sailing, fishing, and sunset views west toward the Dallas skyline.

Housing runs from established neighborhoods near downtown to new construction communities on the county's open land, with waterfront and water-view homes along the shoreline.
