Grapevine sits in northeast Tarrant County, directly beside DFW International Airport, and it has held onto something most cities this close to a major airport lose: a real downtown. Historic Main Street runs through the middle of it, lined with restaurants, shops, tasting rooms, and the depot where the Grapevine Vintage Railroad still runs.
The city is named for the wild grapes that grew here, and it leans into it. Winery tasting rooms anchor the Urban Wine Trail, and GrapeFest fills Main Street every September. On the north edge, Lake Grapevine adds miles of shoreline, trails, marinas, and parkland.
The housing is largely established: neighborhoods with mature trees within a short drive of Main Street, along with townhomes and newer builds closer to the lake and the resort corridor around the Gaylord Texan and Great Wolf Lodge.
Getting around
At the junction of SH 114 and SH 121, beside DFW International Airport, roughly midway between Dallas and Fort Worth. TEXRail connects downtown Grapevine to the airport and Fort Worth.
