Fort Worth

A big city that still moves at Fort Worth speed.

Fort Worth is one of the fastest-growing large cities in the United States, and it wears its history in plain sight. The Stockyards still run a twice-daily cattle drive, Sundance Square anchors a walkable downtown, and the Cultural District holds the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern within a few blocks of each other.

The city spreads wide. Near the core: historic neighborhoods like Fairmount and Ryan Place, the Near Southside's restaurant and medical district, and established areas around TCU. To the north and west: some of the metro's largest new construction corridors, where master-planned communities have followed the Alliance employment engine.

That range is the story. The same move to Fort Worth can mean a 1920s bungalow near Magnolia Avenue or a brand-new build in a community that did not exist five years ago, and the math on those two choices runs very differently.

Getting around

At the junction of I-30, I-35W, and I-20, roughly 30 miles west of Dallas. TEXRail and the Trinity Railway Express connect downtown to DFW Airport and Dallas.

What is here

The Stockyards, Sundance Square, the Cultural District's museums, the Near Southside, TCU, and the Alliance corridor's employment base to the north.

The housing

Historic districts near the core, established neighborhoods around TCU and the west side, and large new construction corridors to the north and far west.

Outdoors

The Trinity Trails system along the river, the Fort Worth Nature Center, and Eagle Mountain Lake northwest of the city.

Schools

Fort Worth is served by multiple school districts, including Fort Worth ISD and portions of Keller, Northwest, Crowley, and other districts depending on the area. Attendance boundaries are set by the districts, so we point you to the district for current zoning and enrollment details.
